ABORTION
“I noticed that everyone that is for abortion has already been born” -- Ronald Reagan
It is not enough to refuse to define a fetus, or to define it incorrectly. Fetuses are not organs, blood clots, or tumors. They are very very small babies. All babies, no matter what size, are small people that cannot speak for themselves. The Independent Party supports laws that protect the legacy of our country by protecting the weakest of the weak – which are our unborn children. Nations throughout history have shown they will spare no expense in saving their country by going to war to kill the enemy, but will Canadians be the first people to demonstrate en masse that they are ready to spare no expense to ensure Canadian mothers do not opt for abortion for economic, sociological, or any other reason excepting the case of incest, rape, or extreme risk to the health of the mother.
Our platform is this: life, liberty, and property. These three virtues are required to be maintained for the benefit of all people expecially the small and the weak, or there will be no end of trouble. To use the law to disallow abortion except for the extreme cases above is not to take away anyone's liberty, but to restrain those who would use their liberty to take away the life of another. Some argue that a woman must have control of her own body. We agree and conditionally accept that a woman must have control of her own body at all times -- and will acquiesce to that position if anyone anywhere can prove by DNA evidence that the mother of an aborted baby shares the exact same DNA of her aborted baby. This is in accord with medical doctrine which does not associate the placenta, umbilical cord, or fetus and baby to the mother, but to the baby itself.
BANKING, MONEY CREATION, AND FINANCE
In 1935, at the beginning of the election campaign, Mackenzie King stated the following:
“Once a nation parts with the control of its currency and credit, it matters not who makes that nation's laws. Usury, once in control, will wreck any nation. Until the control of the issue of currency and credit is restored to government and recognized as its most conspicuous and sacred responsibility, all talk of the sovereignty of Parliament and of democracy is idle and futile. The Liberal Party believes that credit is a public matter, not of interest to bankers only, but of direct concern to every citizen. The Liberal Party declares itself in favour of the immediate establishment of a duly constituted national bank for the control of the issue of money in terms of public needs. The flow of money must be in relation with the domestic, social, and industrial needs of the Canadian people.” Mackenzie spoke the truth about the money system, and can be confirmed in the accuracy of his observations by one of the infamous bankers of all time -- Mayer Amschel Rothschild. Rothschild said: "Give me control of a nations money supply, and I care not who makes the laws".
Why did King make these statements? What did King know that you may not? Do you know where money comes from? Do you know who finances your loans you get from the bank? What would you do if you were told that the credit card companies essentially have no money to loan, as neither do the banks? Do you know who controls our money supply? If you answered "the government", you need to think again. Only 2% of the money supply comes from the Bank of Canada, the other 98% comes bearing compound interest from the private banks.
The survival of the nation of Canada is in the balance. Because of our current system, we are now being warned by economists from all over the spectrum that total economic collapse in the near future is probable. If we do not act decisively now, the next opportunity may not come before it is too late. The solution is to turn to the Bank of Canada which is already in place, and use it the way it was meant to be used. This is in line with the recommendations of Mackenzie King and also more recently three economists -- H. Chorney, J. Hotson, and M. Seccareccia. The solution is to implement the Social Credit money system. Under this system, inflation will be impossible, taxes would immediately be drastically reduced, eventually to be eliminated altogether. The Social Credit money system will free the nation from the manipulated, absurd, and ruinous compounding interest fiat money system controlled by the bankers. Stephen Harper has referred to Social Credit as "funny money" but there is nothing funny about the dire situation in which we find ourselves right now with their fiat funny money system on the brink of collapse. Canada lost 55,000 jobs in July '08, which is the most job losses in any given month in 17 years. If we abdicate our responsibility right now, we will lose our sovereignty to the USA, as we will be forced to accept the new Amero -- the currency of the North American Union. This new currency will be under the control of the US Federal Reserve, and once that happens, all else will be a moot point.
The Rothschild brothers said "The few who understand the system, will either be so interested from it's profits or so dependent on it's favors, that there will be no opposition from that class, while on the other hand, the great body of people, mentally incapable of comprehending the tremendous advantage that capital derives from the system, will bear its burdens without complaint, and perhaps without even suspecting that the system is inimical to their interests." ~ Rothschild Brothers of London, 1863. Are you mentally incapable? Are you angry enough to do something about this yet?
CAPITAL PUNISHMENT
When a man takes an innocent life on a Greyhound bus by decapitation – is there any value in allowing the man to live out his life in luxury at a Canadian maximum security prison at the expense of the Canadian people? When a psychopath murders women and feeds them to animals, is there any value in allowing that man to live out his life in luxury on the nickel of the Canadian people? In some extreme and irrefutable cases justice requires a capital payment, and since there can be no recompense for the shedding of innocent blood until man discovers how to raise the dead, the most viscious and diabolical offenders must be prepared to relinquish their lives in exchange for the human life that has been wasted.
CASE LAW
Case law is a form of legislating from the bench. But precedent is not law, even though we have been tricked into accepting it as such. Currently, the courts and their officers derive their powers from the Crown, and the Crown or Queen, at her Coronation, claimed to derive her powers from God. Like it or not, that is the way it is. It then follows that all law that is legislated, and all decisions that emanate from the courts must be congruent with God's law. If they are not, they are simply “not law” -- or they are “unlawful law”. Either way, any law from the legislature or any decision coming from the courts that is not congruent with God's law is not valid. For example, parliament could mandate that it is OK to kill anyone with red hair. This would appear to be law, but since it violates God's law (not to kill), it is simply not law. The concept of unlawful law is one that is not taught in our school system anymore, although it used to be. The reason for this is so that the electorate remain in a state of ignorance, not knowing when they are being surfeited with unlawful law. The Independent Party eschews any such doctrine, and we warn that it lays the foundation for the destruction of our entire way of life. The Independent Party maintains most vehemently that any judge or member of parliament, any lawyer, prosecutor, police officer, any mayor, commissioner or dog catcher who does not understand this and does not operate by it when functioning in their official capacity is not qualified to hold any elective or appointed office in Canada.
CORPORATISM
The Independent Party is not for socialism, nor for fascism (commonly referred to as corporatism). The jury is out on whether Mussolini really equated fascism with corporatism, but that is irrelevant because in 1938 Franklin Roosevelt did, and so do we. Corporatism exists when the private power grows to a point where it becomes more powerful than the democratic power of the people. It must be understood that the root of the control of the corporate / fascist power is the money system we now live under. See our policy on National Debt and Banking, Money Creation, and Finance for more information on how we plan on dealing with this. The other forms of corporatism that we struggle against (outside of banking) are the corporate media, corporate influence in the educational system, medicine and particularily big pharma, natural resources, and essentially every area where the corporation rears it's head (is there any where it does not?). These will be diminished in their power simply by restoring the control of the money system to the people to whom it rightly belongs.
Until such time as control of the money system is restored to the Canadian people, we will support legislation that restrains corporations with a ball and chain. We will do this to counterbalance the stated goal of all corporations -- which is to make money. Corporations will set all else aside to make money. Michael Eisner (Disney) lays it out in plain english: "We have no obligation to make history. We have no obligation to make art. We have no obligation to make a statement. To make money is our only obligation." Although this policy may require sustaining a socialistic mentality in the interim, it is mandated we do this to keep corporations reined in in terms of preserving the environment, keeping government control over national resources (water, forestry, oil and gas, fishing), keeping medicine and education affordable and accessible, and essentially preserving Canadian sovereignty over Canadian resources until we can slay the money dragon.
We are also heavily concerned that Corporations enjoy many privileges no longer available to the Canadian citizen. We will reverse this trend, and make corporations pay their way while we relax or eliminate restrictions on responsible citizens and families who respect the environment and live responsible lives. We the people are not here for the corporations, the corporations are here for us. We the people made the corporations, they did not make us. We the people do not answer to the corporations or their agenda, they answer to us.
FINES VS. PRISON SENTENCES
“Do the crime – do the time” has all to often been replaced with “do the crime, pay the fine”. This modern twist unfairly favors the rich while punishing the poor. We cannot continue to allow the guilty rich man to go unpunished because of his money. All men have the the same time, and as such time is the only fair way to punish indictable offenses. Statutory violations can be paid for with money, but they will be pro rated to reflect the annual income of the offender. Those with more money will pay more money for the offense, while those with less money will pay less but proportionally the same amount of money as the rich man.
GLOBAL WARMING (AKA CLIMATE CHANGE)
“Global warming” is a catch phrase used by the United Nations through the IPCC (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change) to imply a predominately man made deleterious climate change is happening for the planet in general. Born in hypocrisy and fed by junk science, the alarmist “global warming” movement is a political vehicle to gain and maintain control over governments and their citizens on a global scale.
Since the release of the propagandist movie “An Inconvenient Truth”, many of the world's foremost meteorologists and most highly respected scientists have abandoned the “global warming” bandwagon and have spoken out very clearly against man made “global warming”. Other equally enlightened individuals, including many Canadian scientists, cannot speak out too loudly against “man-made global warming” for fear of losing their research grants or their jobs.
Many Canadians are seeing the global warming hoax for what it is, and are joining global warming skeptics such as:
- Geologist Bruno Wiskel of the University of Alberta
- Climate researcher Dr. Tad Murty, former Senior Research Scientist for Fisheries and Oceans in Canada
- Paleoclimatologist Tim Patterson, of Carlton University in Ottawa
- Paleoclimatologist Dr. Ian D. Clark, professor of the Department of Earth Sciences at University of Ottawa
- Environmental geochemist Dr. Jan Veizer, professor emeritus of University of Ottawa
- Geophysicist Dr. Claude Allegre, a top geophysicist and French Socialist who has authored more than 100 scientific articles
- Astrophysicist Dr. Nir Shaviv, one of Israel's top young award winning scientists
- Mathematician & engineer Dr. David Evans, who did carbon accounting for the Australian Government
- Botanist Dr. David Bellamy, a famed UK environmental campaigner, former lecturer at Durham University and host of a popular UK TV series on wildlife
- Climate scientist Dr. Chris de Freitas of The University of Auckland, N.Z.
- Meteorologist Dr. Reid Bryson, the founding chairman of the Department of Meteorology at University of Wisconsin, now the Department of Oceanic and Atmospheric Sciences
- Global warming author and economist Hans H.J. Labohm
All these do not believe in man-made global warming anymore after looking at both sides of the argument, ie. the political side, and the scientific side . Dr William Gray (a long-time professor at Colorado State University) summed it up October 14, 2007 at the University of North Carolina, saying to his peers “We're brainwashing our children, ...they're going to the Gore movie [An Inconvenient Truth] and being fed all this. It's ridiculous.”
Canada's own CBC produced a documentary on “man-made global warming” called “Global Warming: Doomsday Called Off” which completely flies in the face of the conventional mainstream “man-made global warming” story. The “man-made global warming” movement is mostly politics, not science, which is what should be expected from the United Nations IPCC which is a political, not scientific body;
It appears that “man-made global warming” is justification by world government to do anything they want, including hike gas prices, cull human population and promote families with no more than two children, ban sports cars and SUV's, introduce new, expensive, and outlandish taxes like the infamous “carbon tax” that have not been proven will accomplish anything. This should be an alarming observation and a wake up call to freedom loving people everywhere.
The Independent Party considers man made global warming to be a vehicle of propaganda unworthy of the consideration of thoughtful and serious Canadian citizens. Notwithstanding the foolishness of the global warming / climate change hoax, we do believe that citizens should learn to act responsibly with respect to the environment. Other private organizations, especially corporations, are likewise obligated to spend enough money to mitigate the damage they do to the environment, and repair what damage they do afflict. However, we do not believe that being true to our responsibilities to the planet on which we live will in any way require Canada or it's citizens to acquiesce sovereignty to any interest groups whether foreign or domestic, local or national, corporate or political. It should be evident that the poorer a society, the more brutally it behaves with respect to the environment, and vice versa. For this reason, the Independent Party is committed to sustain an environmentally sound legislative policy based on science, not on propaganda.
The Independent Party will not support or implement a carbon tax. Taxing your own citizens for exhaling CO2 is an encroachment on one of the unalienable rights belonging to man -- the right to life..
GOVERNMENT SECRECY AND PRIVACY
The government has it's fair share of secrets while the privacy of the citizenry is being attacked from all angles. This trend needs to be reversed so the government secrecy is ended, while the privacy of the citizenry is enshrined.
The Independent Party would also prohibit federal and provincial officers, justices, judges, and other officers from attending private meetings with other political heads of State. Obviously, a political leader could be colluding or conspiring against his own government at meetings held in secrecy. For the security of the nation, secret meetings of all government officials must be abolished.
GUN REGISTRY
The gun registry should be abandoned immediately, and the right to bear arms should be enshrined in the Constitution. Guns do not kill innocent people any more than cars without drivers get involved in accidents all by themselves.
INTERNATIONAL COURTS AND REGIONAL UNIONS
The Independent Party does not recognize any supranational court system or regional legislative or political unions above the nation state itself. Any such entity would certainly be staffed with appointed or elected officers who are not Canadian citizens. It is not acceptable to subject Canadians to international law of any kind, since the method of the creation of such law is outside the control of the electorate and would and does disenfranchise the entire citizenship. It should also be self evident that any supranational court system operated with supposed jurisdiction over any people is an abrogation of their unalienable right to a fair trial. The fact that there are separate nations that differ in policy, politics, cultures and ideals is a safety mechanism for the entire world. To amalgamate all power under one roof or one power center is to remove the international diversity that now exists-- both as a curse and a blessing -- and although the threat of war between any two nations will remain, that pales in comparison to the tyranny that not may, but will be unleashed upon mankind if all men everywhere were to sit still while they are surfeited with a supranational Caesar. This is extremely dangerous to liberty everywhere, and the Independent Party opposes this most vehemently.
INTERNATIONAL LAW
It is becoming common for sovereign nations to begin to weave international law into the fabric of new and modified legislation they are passing. One common method is to reference the laws of another nation, or of international law in the body of a piece of legislation. The Independent Party would prohibit the reference to any external legislation of any other non-Canadian governmental or political entity whatsoever. This protects the Canadian people from being subjected to laws created by those they did not vote for, and from being prosecuted under any laws they are not aware of.
KYOTO
The Kyoto Accord is nothing more than another head of the man made global warming mantra as described above. The Independent Party will immediately abrogate the Kyoto Accord. However, we will continue to be responsible environmentally by adding or repealing legislation where required to foster the growth of scientifically and environmentally sound technologies that really are beneficial to the planet. For example, the Independent Party will not necessarily push for an electric car in every driveway, knowing that in some parts of the country the power to charge the car would come from fossil fuel burning power generation plants with a low efficiency in converting fossil fuel to electricity.
We support all prosperous and responsible human activities, especially work based (productive) activities, including all productive commerce, the family farm and other responsible agricultural ventures including organic food production, long term productive fisheries, mining, and forest industry practices that will make Canadians proud of our sustainable country for years to come.
NAFTA, SPP, NAU, AND OTHER TRADE AGREEMENTS
The Independent Party does not condone the use of private or secret meetings of it's public officials with the public or private officers and officials of other countries. NAFTA (North American Free Trade Agreement), SPP (Security, Prosperity, & Partnership) and the NAU (North American Union) are dangerous to Canadian sovereignty, and much of what was accomplished in those agreements, whether finalized or not, was accomplished under the radar of the Canadian media and the Canadian people. The Independent Party recommends pulling out from binding trade agreements (which are nothing other than a series of either punishments or favoritisms for one or the other party), with a return to simple and honest trade with other countries. We condone international trade and suggest you do not need a formal agreement to engage in simple and honest trade.
NATIONAL DEBT
Why is Canada in debt? Why is every other country in the world in debt? Has it always been so, and if not, then why is it so now? Is there any other way? Canada is in debt because all money comes into being as a debt because that is what the government has chosen to do.
When banks create and issue money, the bank issues only the principle, never the interest that begins to accrue on the debt the moment the loan is issued. But the banker demands the principle be paid, plus the interest. But this is mathematically impossible to do, and in a small closed system, the insanity of the system would be apparent very quickly. But the current financial system of the western world is so large, and the financial system of our country so large that the insanity and impossibility of it remains a mystery for a very long time (to most people). But the fact that the system is an impossible system does not disappear simply because it is obfuscated. We see the impossibility manifest itself from time to time in large ways (recessions and depressions), and in small ways (unemployment, bankruptcies, defaulted loans) every working day of the year. The cold hard facts are that it is not possible for all people and governments to be financially successful all the time under this system -- there simply is not enough money around to pay all the principles and all the interest at any given moment. The best that can be hoped for is that most people and most governments will be able to scrape together enough money at the end of each month to meet their debt payments. But if you do the math, you will soon realize this is a losing battle (unless you are a banker). In order to allow the country and the population to continue to make payments, there must be an ever increasing number of loans issued constantly to allow an ever widening river of money to enter the system so people and governments can continue to make payments on their debts. The bad part is that the primary and nearly exclusive way government acquires money is by taxation of it's people. This is why taxes are never reduced, and why the debt really is never paid off, although at times it is paid down a little.
This brings us to the next point. What would happen to the money supply if all debts were paid off (if it was possible which it is not under our current system)? We already know that all money comes into existence as a debt -- as a loan. So it follows, and this is a most stunning and sobering fact, that if all debts were paid THERE WOULD BE EXACTLY ZERO MONEY IN CIRCULATION, AND YOU AND I WOULD STARVE. All commerce would cease, all industry would grind to a halt, all production lines would stand still, shelves would lie empty, and we would starve (unless you live on a farm).
From an exchange between Patman and Eccles before the House Banking and Currency Committee in September 30, 1941:
Patman: You have made the statement that people should get out of debt instead of spending their money. You recall the statement, I presume?
Eccles: That was in connection with installment credit.
Patman: Do you believe that people should pay their debts generally when they can?
Eccles: I think it depends a good deal upon the individual; but of course, if there were no debt in our money system...
Patman: That is the point I wanted to ask you about
Eccles: There wouldn't be any money.
Patman: Suppose everybody paid their debts, would we have any money to do business on?
Eccles: That is correct.
Patman: In other words, our system is based entirely on debt.
So how are we supposed to get out of debt when all money to pay the debt is created by creating a debt? All talk of balancing the budget becomes an absurdity!
So what are we to think of a politician who claims he will pay off the debt? With whose money? What new private loans does that politician hope you will take out so that he can tax you to pay the debt?
We will show you how to stop barking up the wrong tree. Here is the answer. If Canada is able to produce $105 billion worth of goods but can only pay $71 billion for the goods, it is the fiscal means that must be increased to match production and not services reduced. If the country can produce more than it can pay for, then the money supply is too small and must be increased to match production -- not the other way around. In this the finance minister is justified. Making the people go into debt for their high productivity is ridiculous, and the concept of "deficit" is equally stupid, because if the people have produced $34 billion more products and services through their hard work and ingenuity than they can pay for -- how is that a deficit?
Now from the horse's mouth. The following are excerpts from the Canadian Government's Committee on Banking and Commerce in 1939. The following is an exchange between Mr. McGeer (former mayor of Vancouver) and Graham Towers (the horse), who at the time was governor of the Central Bank of Canada is.
Q: But there is no question that banks create the medium of exchange?
Towers: That is right. That is what they are for... that is the banking business, just in the same way that a steel plant makes steel. The manufacturing process consists of making a pen and ink or typewriter entry on a card in a book. That is all. Each and every time a bank makes a loan (or purchases securities), new bank credit is created -- new deposits -- brand new money. Broadly speaking, all new money comes out of a Bank in the form of loans. As loans are debts, then under the present system all money is debt.
Q: When $1 million worth of bonds is presented (by the government) to the bank, a million dollars of new money or the equivalent is created?
Towers: Yes
Q: Is it a fact that a million dollars of new money is created?
Towers: That is right.
Q: Now, the same thing holds true when the municipality or the province goes to the bank?
Towers: Or an individual borrower.
Q: Or when a private person goes to a bank?
Towers: Yes
Q: When I borrow $100 from the bank as a private citizen, the bank makes a bookkeeping entry, and there is a $100 increase in the deposits of that bank, in the total deposits of that bank?
Towers: Yes
Q: Mr. Towers, when you allow the merchant banking system to issue bank deposits which, with the practice of using the cheques as we have it in vogue today, constitutes the medium of exchange upon which I think 95 per cent of our public and private business is transacted, you virtually allow the banks to issue an effective substitute for money, do you not?
Towers: The bank deposits are actual money in that sense, yes.
Q: In that sense they are actual money, but, as a matter of fact, they are not actual money but credit, bookkeeping accounts, which are used as a substitute for money?
Towers: Yes
Q: Then when we authorize the banks to issue a substitute for money?
Towers: Yes, I think that is a very fair statement of banking.
Q: 12 percent of the money in use in Canada is issued by the Government through the Mint and the Bank of Canada, and 88 percent is issued by the merchant banks of Canada on the reserves issued by the Bank of Canada?
Towers: Yes
Q: But if the issue of currency and money is a high prerogative of government, then that high prerogative has been transferred to the extent of 88 percent from the Government to the merchant banking system?
Towers: Yes
Q: Will you tell me why a government with power to create money, should give that power away to a private monopoly, and then borrow that which parliament can create itself, back at interest, to the point of national bankruptcy?
Towers: If parliament wants to change the form of operating the banking system, then certainly that is within the power of parliament.
Q: So as far as war is concerned, to defend the integrity of the nation, there will be no difficulty in raising the means of financing, whatever those requirements may be?
Towers: The limit of the possibilities depends on men and materials.
Q: And where you have an abundance of men and materials, you have no difficulty, under our present banking system, in putting forth the medium of exchange that is necessary to put the men and materials to work in defence of the realm?
Towers: That is right.
Q: Would you admit that anything that is physically possible and desirable, can be made financially possible?
Towers: Certainly
Furthermore, the Bank of Canada has stated: "Commercial banks and other financial institutions provide the greater part of assets used as money through loans made to individuals and businesses. In that sense, financial institutions are creating money. " Bank of Canada
Now you know why Henry Ford said: “It is well enough that the people of the nation do not understand our banking and monetary system, for if they did, I believe there would be a revolution before tomorrow morning.” (although American, his statement still applies because our system is just as bad).
The only viable solution is to switch to the Social Credit economic system.
NATIVES
The natives of Canada have been toiling long and hard to seek reparations for years of abuse and mistreatment at the hands their conquerors. It would appear at first glance that the deals and conciliatory contracts and privileges made with these good people is unfair to Canadians who do not share their heritage. The deficiency lies not in giving the natives too many rights, but in not giving the other citizens of Canada enough of those same privileges. Any right bestowed on a native must also be bestowed on all other Canadians. Canada should not be a nation of special interest privileges, benefits, advantages or favors. Any new rights bequeathed on any Canadian anywhere must be made available to all other Canadians regardless of their race or ethnic heritage.
The Independent Party recommends not just honoring the existing agreements in place with the Native bands, but furthering discussion with the Natives and also raising the level of rights bestowed on all Canadians by loosening restrictions on many areas from land claims to water rights for the individual citizen and their families.
OCCUPATION BY A FOREIGN MILITARY (COMPREHENSIVE DEFENSE AND SECURITY AGREEMENT OR CIVIL ASSISTANCE PLAN)
In February of 2008, the United States and Canada entered into a military agreement, allowing the armed forces from one nation to support the armed forces of the other nation during a domestic civil emergency, even one that does not involve a cross-border crisis. The Independent Party does not recognize any mutual defense agreement or civil assistance plan, and rightly regards occupation of our soil by a foreign military as an act of war.
POLICING THE POLICE
The Independent Party supports the concept of citizen tribunals of 12 members as a preliminary jury of discovery for the investigation of police officers who are accused of wrongdoing. This will allow the police to regain some of the confidence of the Canadian public that they have lost with the use of Tasers, pepper spray, and in general "the blue wall of silence". A system like this will carry the faith and confidence of the public, for officers who have been exonerated will be made so by the very people they serve.
This is only part of the problem though, and so also only part of the solution. Judicial reform, starting at the legislative level and proceeding down through the court system is needed to ensure those who violate the laws suffer the consequences, with a focus on allowing the whole truth to be told. This will provide satisfaction to the police officers who work hard to bring criminals to justice and ensure that a "life sentence with no parole" means the offender dies in jail, and is not released early for "good behavior" or other frivilous legal loopholes. In short, if criminals are punished accordingly, the police will be less likely to feel they need to resort to punishing the criminals themselves.
POLITICAL SCIENCE
“The concept of free speech is non-existent at Environment Canada. They are manufacturing the message of science.” -- Andrew Weaver, Climatologist UVIC
As of February 2008, environment Canada has muzzled it's scientists, and has ordered them to refer all media inquiries to Ottawa where answers “along approved lines” can be provided. The Independent Party decries this authoritarian approach as counter productive, untruthful, and dishonest. Such a policy might be in the best interest of special interest, but it is certainly not in the best interest of the Canadian people.
SOCIALISM
The noxious weed of socialism has sprouted and has been growing rampantly throughout western culture for many years now. This is evidenced by the presence of many of the planks of Karl Marx's communist manifesto in our laws and government. Some of the planks that are present in our system include:
- the abolition of private property and the application of all rent to public purpose
- a heavy progressive or graduated income tax
- abolition of all rights of inheritance
- centralization of the means of communication and transportation in the hands of the government
- extension of factories and instruments of production owned by the government
- free education for all children in government schools
Where there is more socialism, there is less freedom. Where there is more freedom, there comes more responsibilities. In general, the Independent Party favors freedom and personal responsibility over socialism and the collective passing the buck of responsibility to someone else.
The Independent Party advocates a methodical and persistent path to removal of all forms of socialism from our government, starting with the items from the communist manifest mentioned above.
TAXATION
The Independent Party regards the Constitution as belonging to the people, not the government. So it follows that the interpretation of the Constitution belongs to the people, not the government or it's agents. The BNA Act 1867 contains a few interesting clauses regarding taxation in it's various forms. From the Constitution Act:
CONSTITUTION ACT
VI. DISTRIBUTION OF LEGISLATIVE POWERS
Powers of the Parliament
91. It shall be lawful for the Queen, by and with the Advice and Consent of the Senate and House of Commons, to make laws for the Peace, Order, and good Government of Canada, in relation to all Matters not coming within the Classes of Subjects by this Act assigned exclusively to the Legislatures of the Provinces; and for greater Certainty, but not so as to restrict the Generality of the foregoing Terms of this Section, it is hereby declared that (notwithstanding anything in this Act) the exclusive Legislative Authority of the Parliament of Canada extends to all Matters coming within the Classes of Subjects next hereinafter enumerated; that is to say,--
...3. The raising of Money by any Mode or System of Taxation. ...
Exclusive Powers of Provincial Legislatures.
92. In each Province the Legislature may exclusively make Laws in relation to Matters coming within the Classes of Subject next hereinafter enumerated; that is to say,--
...2. Direct Taxation within the Province in order to the raising of a Revenue for Provincial Purposes.
Namely, section 91 states the Feds can do whatever they want as listed in Section 91, but they may do nothing "coming within the Classes of Subjects by this Act assigned exclusively to the Legislatures of the Provinces". In other words, they can do whatever they want but they cannot operate in the areas specifically given to the provinces -- note the word exclusively used in both the preamble and the section which is given to the provinces. This is why John A. Macdonald was furious when he first read the act -- it gave him none of the power he wanted.
The talking heads, the judges, the lawyers, etc., all tell us we can't read, but actually we can. And we are sure you can too. English is English. The GST and the income tax (which are direct taxes) are unlawful taxes because the general cannot overrule the specific. See the section on Case Law for more information on our position on legislating from the bench.
TASERS AND PEPPER SPRAY
The Independent Party considers tasers and pepper spray to be instruments of torture. Tasers and pepper spray should be banned country wide immediately.
UNITED NATIONS
The Independent Party recommends leaving the United Nations immediately. The United Nations began as a private political body, and continues today as a body unelected by the citizenry of Canada. To sustain the United Nations politically or in any other way is to disenfranchise the Canadian people, and to conduct military operations under the banner of any other nation be it the United Nations or otherwise is not acceptable. The Independent Party is not exclusionary in it's views on international relations, and for that very reason it must reject any participation in the United Nations agenda for world government.
WAR
The Independent Party does not condone unlawful war. We believe war should only be waged after a clear declaration of war is given, and only after every other way of avoiding war has been exhausted. We believe the war in Afghanistan is a war based on lies, and that our men and women are dying not for freedom or the Canadian people, but for global imperialism and the vested interests of the corporate and military industrial complex.
