Print PARTY POLICY

The Independent Party is not registered with Elections Canada, nor will it ever be. Registration brings obligations, and the Independent Party needs no more obligations for it's members than they already have.

Candidates running in the election are registered with the Chief Electoral Officer as per the Election Act.

The Independent Party does not obligate the members who become elected to vote the party policy. It is expected that Independent Party MP's will vote their conscience where appropriate, or the will of their constituents. If they vote amiss, it is trusted the electorate will deal with that either by recall or in the next election.

Independent Party members are called freemen. Hence the website name. But what about women? Women are included in the phrase "freemen". "Men" is the plural for "man". And the etymology for "man" is from Old English man, or "mon - human being". If there are any females that are human, or any males that are human, then these are what we call "men" and are the people that constitute "freemen". Note that this definition is not exclusive of children either, as long as they are human too. Any insinuation that "freemen" is not politically correct is no matter to us, because we trump politics with the correct etymological usage of "man", and invite all "men" to return to the correct usage of that word with us.

Since our party is not registered, you will not be able to receive an income tax deduction receipt for your donation to the party itself. But no worries, because there won't be any income taxes after we are elected. Think of it as kind of like a belated tax deduction (with interest). Alternatively, donate to a candidate directly and you will receive a tax deductible receipt.
